One of the things that separates my website from the thousands of others is that we feature unique custom products. Most other websites simply recycle FTD and Teleflora images over and over again. With our custom designed products we created it and we will recreate it for you special.

Networking

I was at a networking event a few weeks back and I was asked why I was better than my competition. That is a great question! But not easy to answer in 30 seconds or less.
"I love what I do!" was my answer. I spent the next 29 seconds explaining how that makes me better. Quality, Service and Value.

Roses

What's in a name? That which we call a rose By any other name would smell as sweet.

I love roses, most people love roses, unfortunately I hear over and over again that "roses don't last". The real problem is that they get the wrong roses from the wrong places. A rose with all it's beauty can be very temperamental. If they are not cared for properly they will wilt.

I have made it my life's work to treat my roses with the love and care that they need. Starting from the farms in South America, thought the long flight and trucks to get to my door, then I really start to treat them like the beauties that they are. When i opened the new Merrick location I installed the best floral refrigerator available to keep my roses at 34-38 degrees. I follow the latest post harvest care techniques available from Floralife, Chrysal and Dr. Staby's Chain of Life network. All this extra care and handling provides me with a rose that will be proud to send to some one special.

Every week I have customers call or come into the store raving about how long my roses last!

Birthdays

Birthdays! Everybody has one! At Feldis, we think you should celebrate. Whether you want to honor your friend or family member, or just something for yourself, flowers are fantastic for it. My own birthday is in July, and there's nothing I love receiving more than flowers. For birthdays, exotic flowers are the best. Here's a list of my favorite flowers to send to that special someone on their birthday:

Hydrangea

A full flower in many shades of blue and purple. Very fun to look at! Not to mention long lasting.

Orchids

With so many varieties, there's no way to go wrong. In all shades of the rainbow, orchids are very versatile, and they can be found in plant and cut flower varieties.

Gerbera Daisies

In red, yellow, pink or orange these flowers clearly state friendship and devotion.

Lilies

Breath taking lilies catch your eye, and captivate your attention. Very bold, and they come in many different colors and sizes.

Sunflowers

The flower of the season; sunflowers. Personally, the sunflower is my favorite. It symbolises all of my favorite things, like summer, happiness and joy. I can't help but to smile a little when I see one. At Feldis, we always have sunflowers in stock, 24-7. Our flowers come from the sunny farms in California, Florida, and New Jersey, and trust me when I say, their quality cannot be matched.

*Tip on sunflower care: keep pets (cats especially) away from them! They don't understand the difference between 'art' and 'food'!

Professional Administrative Assistance Day or Secretaries Day?

I have often wondered who makes these desissions? Who invented Secretaries Day and then who changed it to Professional Administrative Assistance Day?

Secretaries Day, as I prefer to call it, is a great day to express appreciation to those people who work tirelessly as assistants, secretaries, helpers, aids, or in any support type job. In so many organizations these are the people who keep things running smoothly. They are the foundations that organizations use to continue to move forward though good and bad time.

Particularly this year are we start recovering from the economic ills that have been plagueing us we really need to show out appreciation to the unsung heros that makes things happen.

The last few weeks I have been working very hard preparing our spring line. Sue, Maria, Cheryl, Ed and Mary have made countless samples of different arrangements, I then set up my portable photo studio and take pictures. After weeks of discussion we settled on the pieces that best express the season as well as showing our unique floral designs and the most exciting flowers and color combinations.
